An old friend gave this advice, when I told him where I'd been.
How things had not gone so well, sometimes my faith grew dim.
In a world so filled with heartache and despair,
I thank you Lord, for being there.
Wishing and hoping for cleansing for me,
And all the dreams of what I could be.
Fulfill my days, tender my heart,
Cast away all the worthless parts.
Make my heart like Thine and clean
For tragic mistakes, please redeem.
Upon Your mercy, I am cast
The only thing that lasts and lasts.
Till He comes or I go before,
Mold my heart, an open door.
That I can know and by faith see,
You love me and I love Thee.
Worthy is the Lamb who cared so much,
To give me, broken with tears, His tender touch.
