For years I sailed a fitful course, upon the sea of life,
In the midst of dangers and darkness, the rocks and shoals of strife.

Yet shining through the storm, a great beam of Grace and Light,
Jesus found me hopeless and drifting, and brought me through the night.

Though my course is not final, and danger abounds on every side,
He has given me buoys and markers, to carry me above the tide.

Someday when my voyage is over and I sail the sea of life no more,
I take heart with much gladness, for Jesus waits on that farther shore.

I’ll finally see Him, face to face, who rescued me from sin,
That Precious Savior full of Grace, to share eternal blessings with Him.
