You are the one my dreams are made of,
Full of understanding, warmth and love.
Feelings that I thought were only in fairy tales.
Now I know that you are the winds that fill my sails.
The honesty and love that is kept between us two,
Keep our relationship very dear and true.
We can talk about good times, and bad,
Talk about changes from the past I had.
My goodness you praise, my slipping, you let me slide,
My opinions and thoughts you gently guide.
If I should stray from good, you know what to expect,
Once my course is corrected, feelings are of great respect.
It tickles me how you make my heart smile,
Sometimes unexpected, done with such a graceful style.
Sometimes you keep revealing silly, wonderful things all day.
Teaching me that this free, easy relationship is how I pray.
You are the warm, good feeling of the sun upon my face,
You are the calm that comes when I face life's rapid pace.
And when you say "Beloved", I get butterflies.
Like a little child, with puppy love in my eyes.
Talking with you for hours seems only minutes passed,
Precious moments, hours, a lifetime, a friend at last.
You are so firm, yet gentle, so stern, yet tender,
It makes my life full and complete, to you I surrender.
There is a bond, a pact, you call it a covenant, it's so strong,
That in it I feel so protected, free, loved, it's where I belong.
There are no ill winds that may come and have their way,
For now I have Holy Spirit winds, ill winds cannot stay!
